Walter Fritz Receives City of El Cajon Proclamation
In his role as Board of Directors Chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors San Diego, Nuera Construction CEO Walter Fritz received a Proclamation from the City of El Cajon at its February 27 City Council meeting, honoring ABCSD’s vital role in providing career and technical education, fostering economic growth in El Cajon and throughout the region.
Also joining Fritz for the presentation was Kevin Strahler, Project Manager for West Coast Air Conditioning.
Business and industry nationwide including in the City of El Cajon and San Diego County report increasing challenges in addressing the skills gap and training qualified professionals in critical and growing fields including construction. ABCSD’s Apprenticeship and Training program prepares individuals for fulfilling careers as skilled construction craft professionals.
Strahler, a Class of 2015 graduate and National Craft Championship Gold Medal Winner, demonstrates the potential for career success by ABCSD graduates. He is now working for a $50 million company based in the City of El Cajon.
The City of El Cajon offered to work in partnership with ABCSD to distribute information about its apprenticeship training to prospective students. ABC San Diego encourages El Cajon residents including women, veterans, and under represented groups to consider a career in the construction industry.
